Red River Fly Fishers

Information about Red River Fly Fishers goes here

The Red River Fly Fishers is a family friendly fly fishing club.
We meet the first Tuesday of each month in The Lodge at Gander Mountain in Sherman, Texas. Meet-n-Greet starts at 6:30 PM and the program starts promptly at 7PM.

The second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM is our Fly Tying Roundtable. It is also at Gander Mountain in the Lodge.
We encourage everyone to bring their vise and at least one of their favorite fly patterns to share with the group. Don’t tie flies or don’t have a favorite pattern to share? Come anyway, we have spare vises and materials and we’ll teach you.

We also get together at least once a month (weather permitting) and have a fishing get-together.
Our club is very active in fly fishing education. We teach two “Learn to Fly Fish” and three “Learn to Fish” events at Eisenhower State Park and we’re hoping to “take it on the road” in 2012 and hopefully grow our sport.

Welcome to the Texas Council!! The Texas Council was formed this fall, as there was a strong desire to unify our state. Texas was divided with the Northern clubs belonging to the Southern Council and the rest of the state belonging to the Gulf Coast Council. A unified state will be beneficial in so many ways. On November the 26th, the Federation of Fly Fishers approved the formation of the Texas Council. The new Council has been off to an excellent start, with the help of so many wonderful, and talented volunteers. Without them, this dream would have never came true.

We hope you find this website to be of great value, and easy to use. Please provide any comments, suggestions, or activities you wish the council to partake in. We would greatly appreciate your support.
