Subject: Texas FlyFishers invite to ‘Orvis Down the Hatch Film Festival’

The Orvis Down the Hatch Film Festival Thursday, Oct. 9 | Pre-Party 4-6 pm | Film 6 pm Join Orvis Houston for a pre-party and film festival to celebrate the remodel of our Fly Fishing department. The pre-party starts at 4 pm, and we will have free food and beer until the show starts at 6 pm. We will also hold a raffle for Orvis product, fly-tying demonstrations from 4-6 pm, and a casting contest from 5-6 pm, with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places! Plus, you will receive an Orvis $10 Savings Card when you donate $10 or more to the Texas FlyFishers of Houston, a non-profit organization associated with the Federation of Fly Fishers.

Welcome to the Texas Council!! The Texas Council was formed this fall, as there was a strong desire to unify our state. Texas was divided with the Northern clubs belonging to the Southern Council and the rest of the state belonging to the Gulf Coast Council. A unified state will be beneficial in so many ways. On November the 26th, the Federation of Fly Fishers approved the formation of the Texas Council. The new Council has been off to an excellent start, with the help of so many wonderful, and talented volunteers. Without them, this dream would have never came true.
