As winter approaches Texas, one thing for me comes to mind. Texas Trout Stockings. And Texas Parks and Wildlife with help from the Texas Council, hope to make this season a special one for you. The Texas Council is kicking off the season with a Trout 101 on December the 5th, at the Highway 16 Brazos River Crossing. Starting at 9am, there will be on the river presentations from some of the best at catching stocked trout, there will be flies available for use by needy anglers,  a tour of the Possum Kingdom Fish hatchery where all of the North Texas Stocker Trout are stored, lunch, and plenty of time to chase after some freshly stocked trout. The official schedule for the trout stocking can be found here:
Invitations have been sent out to all North Texas Fly Fishing clubs, and out on various social media sites. Please reserve your spot today by contacting us at:
Hope to see you all there,

We will meet in the parking lot on the Northwest side of the bridge crossing on Highway 16.

Welcome to the Texas Council!! The Texas Council was formed this fall, as there was a strong desire to unify our state. Texas was divided with the Northern clubs belonging to the Southern Council and the rest of the state belonging to the Gulf Coast Council. A unified state will be beneficial in so many ways. On November the 26th, the Federation of Fly Fishers approved the formation of the Texas Council. The new Council has been off to an excellent start, with the help of so many wonderful, and talented volunteers. Without them, this dream would have never came true.

We hope you find this website to be of great value, and easy to use. Please provide any comments, suggestions, or activities you wish the council to partake in. We would greatly appreciate your support.
