Learn to Fly Fish Event

If you’ve ever wanted to learn to fly fish or if you’d like to become a better fly fishers, here’s your chance.
The Red River Fly Fishers and Eisenhower state park will be hosting “Learn to Fly Fish” on Saturday, September 14, from 9:00 to 2:00 in Eisenhower state park on the shores of Lake Texoma.
The event will include:
> A beginning fly fishing class
> Fly Casting instruction
> Demonstration fly tiers
Everything including entrance to the park will be free.
We’re asking that the participants of the full fly fishing course be at least 13 years old.
Here are the details:
Learn to Fly Fish will be Saturday, September 14 from 9:00 to 2:00 at Eisenhower state park on the shores of Lake Texoma. Access to the park and all events is free. You can even fish from the park shore without a license.
Directions to Eisenhower State Park: From TX Highway 75 north of Denison, TX. Take Exit # 72 west toward the Denison Dam. The store “Dave’s Ski and Tackle” is located on this corner. At the edge of the Texas side of the Denison Dam, turn left onto 1310. Follow 1310 to the park entrance.

Just a reminder that we are always looking for your news and announcements, from all across Texas, about your clubs, events and even results of outings, weather conditions, environmental issues and concerns, speakers and the like. Heck, you don’t have to be a writer – send photographs, and descriptions of those photos, as well. If your club has a twitter account or Facebook page, and it’s not listed on your page here – let me know and I will make sure that information is integrated into your club’s page. Social media is our friend.

The Texas Council website was created for the open exchange and dissemination of information, and with your help we can realize the full potential of the site. So far, the site is off to a roaring run, and we appreciate all the information that has come in from all corners, of this many-cornered, State.

WELCOME

Welcome to the Texas Council!! The Texas Council was formed this fall, as there was a strong desire to unify our state. Texas was divided with the Northern clubs belonging to the Southern Council and the rest of the state belonging to the Gulf Coast Council. A unified state will be beneficial in so many ways. On November the 26th, the Federation of Fly Fishers approved the formation of the Texas Council. The new Council has been off to an excellent start, with the help of so many wonderful, and talented volunteers. Without them, this dream would have never came true.

We hope you find this website to be of great value, and easy to use. Please provide any comments, suggestions, or activities you wish the council to partake in. We would greatly appreciate your support.
